Up for sale is a beautifully crafted oval shape lidded quill box made by a Native American artist Jane Pangowish. she is Ojibway Chippewa. Her tribe is renowned for their quill boxes, and this is a nice one with quillwork covering both the lid and the sides. The underlying basket is crafted of birch bark, and all of the rims are made of sweetgrass, held in place with the customary thread binding. The lid of the basket is decorated with a wild rose design made with porcupine quills, and white quillwork covers all the sides. Very nice! This attractive artifact will be an outstanding addition to someone collection The box is a nice size it measures 3 3/4\"long and 2 1/2\" across. This basket is in really nice condition.
