This listing is fora Vintage BIRKS STERLING Silver COMPOTE & matching UNDER PLATE.

I have called them compote with under plate, but of course the two pieces work equally well by themselves as a Compote & matching Candy/Nut Dish.

The Compote orPedestal Dish (which is solid sterling silver - no a weighted base) stands approximately 2 1/2 inches in height and measures 6 inches across and is marked STERLING with 1/15/1 (with a light security mark) and the Birksletter date \"N\" which I believe is foryear 1948.

TheUnder Plate is marked STERLING and measures approximately 6 inches across.

TheCompote weights150 grams and the under plate weights 120 grams for a combined total weight of 270 grams.

Both pieces are free of Monograms - the compote is in excellent condition, the underplatecould use some buffing and polishing.
