Vintage Black Rag Dolls, Feed Sack Cloth, Depression Era. This is an amazing pair of dolls, played with but not abused and they are intact. The cloth is brown rather than black cloth as is sometimes seen. The clothes are made of feed sack material circa the 1930s or earlier. They are very expressive and have great faces. Size is 12 inches for the girl doll and 12 1/2 inches for the boy doll. Condition is very good except for the hair. The girl doll has lost all her yarn hair as the last photos show. The boy doll has lost about 25% of his yarn hair but you can see from the photos exactly how this hair was made. It would be an easy restoration for an expert to re-yarn these dolls as needed. The heads, clothes, bodies and limbs are in exceptional shape, clean and unripped. These are from the Chapel Hill area of North Carolina. Please see my other sales for more old items.
