Vintage Brooch Pin Signed Los Castillos Mexican Pedro Castillo Sterling Silver Mid Century Modernist Style Taxco Mexico Geometric Brooch

Mexican silver brooch signed by Pedro Castillo. The design is classic mid century Mexican, in the abstract modernist style made popular by the Mexican silversmiths. Circa 1950s.

SIZE: 1-1/2\" x 1-1/8\" -- approximately 3.8cm x 2.7cm
HALLMARKS: PC signature; Eagle 3; Hecho en Mexico; Sterling; 149. These identical hallmarks are pictured in Billie Hougart’s “The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks”, on pg 41. This is a highly regarded reference for those interested in antique & fine Mexican jewelry. Most of the Mexican silversmiths of any importance are documented in this book.
WEIGHT: 12 grams
CONDITION: Overall very good vintage. Age consistent wear-no issues.
