Signed on the bottom, the fine Zisha Teapot was made of Yixing Clay. The small Chinese Teapot was made in the form of a crab (I think). It has gold Calligraphy marks around the shoulder of the pot. The Yixing Clay is often referred to as purple sand or clay and is found near the city of Yixing in China. The teapot has a clear glaze. From an estate collection in NW Pennsylvania.

CONDITION: Excellent and free from chips or cracks. There may have been a thin cord coming out of the finial on the lid at some point but it is gone.

MEASUREMENTS: 2\" at highest and approx4 1/2\" at widest including the handle and spout.

VINTAGE: I believe 1950\'s or earlier
