Vintage Catholic Chaplet or Rosary of the Seven Dolors of Mary (with copy of the ORIGINAL vintage leaflet)

\"This is a devotion instituted in the course of the thirteenth century, in honor of the sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary, endured by her in compassion for the suffering and death of her Divine Son. It is practiced upon a chaplet composed of seven times seven beads, each portion of seven being divided from the rest by medals, representing the seven principal sorrows of her life....\" (taken from the leaflet that comes with it)

Whata great old chaplet! It is made of wood beads with 8 different medals. The medal on the end is of the Sorrowful Mary \"Mater Dolorosa\" on the front, and the Crucifixion scene with Mary below the cross and \"Christe Eleison\" on the back of the medal. Each of the other 7 medals has a scene from one of the Sorrows of Mary. The back of each of these medals has an image of the Sorrowing Mary with 7 swords piercing her heart.

It comes with an exact reproduction of the original leaflet (which bears an imprimatur from 1913) describing this devotion, how to pray the chaplet, and the many indulgences that 2 different Popes have granted.

It measures approximately 21\" in length. The large oval medal on the end is 18 x 15mm and the smaller medals are 12 x 15mm. The oval wooden beads are
5x8mm.

In good condition. These are NOS (new old stock) and have been in storage for many years. They do not appear to have any damage or previous repairs.
