Up for sale is a rare image of General Henry Slocum. The backmark is listed as the Morse\'s Gallery of the Cumberland, Nashville, Tennessee. I did a search on the internet and didn\'t find an image of Gen. Slocum quite like this one. It is an unusual piece of American Civil War History that would look great in your collection! Photo is clipped on the bottom corners and if you look close on the back you can see faint writing on the back of the photo.
Henry Warner Slocum is perhaps best known as the commander of the Army of the Potomac\'s XII Corps at Chancellorsville and Gettysburg, but he also commaned one of Sherman\'s corps during the March to the Sea and through the Carolinas. Thanks for looking!
