Made of chalkware, this lovely wall plaque of a colonial man and lady in bright colors is in wonderful condition with a few scratches and one small chip on the edge. The piece measures 8\" across and 11\" high and 1\" deep.Our lady has a bright pink, gray and blue skirt with flowers on her hat and trim of the dress. She carries a fan and has her hat hanging on her left arm. Our gentleman is dressed in white ruffled shirt, black coat, gray pants, white hose and black shoes carrying a book from which he is reading to our lady. Their faces have rosy cheeks and rosebud lips. At the top of the plaque there is a gold bow. The background is cream withbright green grass and tree leaves over our lady\'s left shoulder. There are several scratches on the cream background which can be seen in the photo. There is a small chip on one edge of the plaque. The back of the plaque has a hanging wire set into the chalkware and there is the number \"147\" stamped in black. A very unusual piece!This is a lovely piece of history waiting to join or beginyour chalkware collection!
