Vintage Chinese famille rose or verte lamp with traditional designs. The lamp is ginger jar shaped and attached to the original dark wood stand which contrasts beautifully with the hand applied, vibrant colors on the porcelain. The designs include pale lavender wisteria on flowing branches, rose pink tinged with yellow chrysanthemums, a stylized blue bird and other variations in the water color like tones. The pale, mint green ground has a slightly mottled textures. Each side has writing in red.

The lamp is about 12-¾” (or a bit more) to the top of the porcelain (including the wood base). The total height, including the short metal “stem”, harp, and finial, is about 26” or a bit more.

The lamp works. The wire is old. I didn’t see any breaks but it is stiff and should be changed. The harp fits tightly. I assume it is original. There is some darkening of metal and wear to the shiny finish on the harp. The finial has a couple of small flakes in the glaze where porcelain meets the now darkened metal rim. The oil jar has some soiling. I’m not sure what is variation in glaze, mottling or light soiling. I think it looks fine as it is but it may need cleaning. There is an occasional hint of crazing here and there, visible only on close inspection.
