Civil War Historical Map of the Border and Southern States 1865 Philips & Watson’s Military Map36” x 25”Multicolor.The presentation is in a 4” x 6 1/2” book, with an orange color and black illustration. There are 36 pages of text, giving summations of all the battles and skirmishes beginning with Fort Sumter in 1861 and ending with Fisher’s Hill on September 21-22, 1864.The map is folded to fit comfortably in the book and folds out to a full three feet by slightly over two feet.The maps are very detailed, and the locations of all the described incidents appear on the four-color map as red dots.The cover has a few tears andconsiderable chipping. The mapfolds out perfectly and is still attached to the book in the original fashion, although a number of splits at the folds have been reinforced on the blank back with archival tape. This is the only copy we’ve ever seen. We suspect that most others have been disassembled so the map could be framed.
