Here is an attractive Art Deco cold painted bronze figurine of an Alsatian or German Shepard Dog on a light green onyx ashtray base. Age and use considered it is in pretty good condition. There is some very minor paint loss to the bronze mostly on the nose and ears as can be seen in photos. The colors are still strong showing the characteristic pattern of the breed. It is loose at the feet and I would say it has been reattached as some point. The onyx is in good condition with only minor nibbles on a couple of corners. There is an arc of scratches at the hind feet of the figure and it would appear the back legs were loose at some point and swung back and forth leaving some scratches you can see when held at an angle (see photo). Often these onyx bases are pretty chewed up but this one is in overall good condition. Besides an ashtray it would serve useful as a coin, pin or trinket dish. The onyx base measures approximately 5 1/4\" x 4 1/4\" x 3/4\". The figure measures approximately 3 3/4\" x 2 1/2\" x 3/4\". Overall height is 3 1/2\" tall.
