Up for grabs and lookin for a new home is a really neat oldHomestead ( Collins, same company similar to the Chevy GMC thing )hammer hatchet combo head that I spent some time cleaning her up and then mounted her on a nice fully hand made custom hardwood handle......This hatchet is approx. 13 1/2inches long.......The head on this axe is old but in good shape for its age........There is no major damage to her such as cracks, big chips, welds or bends...........I removed the loose rust and exposed a nice naural patina and I mirror polished both sides of the razor sharp cutting edge as well as the hammer face, I think it makes for a great custom detail effect!!!!!!......The logo is there and in fair shape, all of the letters are there and legible but a little on the thin side, the logo reads \" Homestead Made in U.S.A.........The cutting edge is chip free and razor sharp, so do not mistake her for a toy at any time....The head on this axe has alot of weather character marks on her, but nothing that makes her junk, in fact the pits and craters are really not all that deep but more just surface wounds LOL.....If you look at the one picture that the head is laying next to the tape measure you will see a line that you may think is a crack but I can assure you it is not, its just a line in the steel from the casting, nothing to even worry about, this head is stout and should last another 100 years or so..........The handle is one of MY trademark classics and has been all hand made and hand shaped by me at the world famous \" Uncle Pimpys Axe Palace \"here in Springfield Oregon......The handle is made out of one piece of solid Ash.........I sanded the handle silky smooth, gave her a flame joband used several coats of boiled linseed oil for the final finish...........The handle shaped out nice and all of the lines have a nice flow to them........I set the head using both wood wedges and epoxy and got a real nice gap free fit that looks great on both the top and bottom.....I added finger grooves to the bottom of the handle and that is what really makes her sweet, this handle is a joy to hold, it really does just mold to ones hand..................Please ask questions.....I do combine when ever possible....cheaper on you and easier on me....shipping quoted in sale is intended for the lower 48 United States only....all others may be more.....by offerding on this axe you verify and confirm that you are over the age of 18 and that seller(myself ) is not liable for injury or damage that may occur from use or misuse of this all who may be interested...Look for \"Uncle Pimpys Axe Palace\" on facebook for more pictures and other odds and ends....thank you and good luck.......I am giving you the option on shipping of either parcel post or priority, I recomend priority because it reduces the chance of damage in transit, but its up to you, please specify when you pay witch shipping method you want, either way I will insure the parcel at my cost................................BY offerDING ON OR BUYING THIS AXE YOU ARE REALLY SUPPORTING SMALL BUSSINESS AMERICA, AND FOR THAT I THANK YOU!!!!!!!
