For your consideration a fine example of a modernist woodblock print by a renown \"Sosaku Hanga\" print artist Mikumo Mokuhansha (Kyoto Japan 1919-1965). Titled: Red Mount Fuji with Japanese character marks. Pencil signed numbered and dated 1967. Also with artist chop mark in the bottom left corner and the publishers chop mark in the right border. Sheet size measures 12 x 17-5/16 inches. Image size is 10-1/8 x 16inches. The Title and the Japanese characters in the bottom center are both in pencil. There is a Mikumo Studio paper label on the backing-sheet facing the print. An estate purchase, and found unframed in a drawer with other art work. The condition is good+. There is some wave to the paper and slight soiling and yellowing in borders. The image is clean but has very faint mat marks to the top and two sides all of which can be removed unless it isre-matted. Printed by the artist on heavy Japanese cream paper. The original studio mounting of the print is with a daub of paste which will probably loosen-up nicely allowing separation for re-matting.
