History - \"Theatre Magazine -Founded in 1900 as a pictorial quarterly called OUR PLAYERS GALLERY, it changed its name to THE THEATRE with the May, 1901 issue, when it became a monthly edited by Arthur Hornblow. THEATRE was one of the magazines about acting and the stage and Broadway and the players who fill our lives with joy, sorrow, and entertainment. The Library of Congress file of THEATRE runs from 1901 to 1931, under the titles THEATRE (1901-July 1917) and THEATRE MAGAZINE (Aug. 1917-April 1931).\"
