LARGE HUGE 10 ins SWEDISH FOLK ART WOODEN AND HAND PAINTED HORSE
A ‘Dala’ or‘ Dalecarlian ‘Horse, Swedish made by Nils Olsson, hand carved and decorated in the Kurbits style.
This gorgeous vintage example is hand carved and hand painted. It stands approx. 10.5 inches in height and still has its original Made In Sweden label intact.
These horses are a folk art tradition originating in the Swedish province of Dalarna. In times past the Dala horse was mostly used as a toy for children, in modern times ithas become a symbol of Dalarna as well as Sweden in general. Often seen at Christmastime, these make great gifts for family and friends.
This particular horse is hand carved & painted in the a traditional design on a vivid blue ground and made by Nils Olsson of Sweden.
Material : Wooden Carved & Painted.
Sizes: approximate 10 ins nose to tail x 10.5 ins tall x 3 ins wide
Condition: In wonderful pre loved condition. No chips, crack or repairs.
Over all a lovely example in fabulous condition.
