Vintage Dresden Lace Sandizell German Porcelain Pink Figurine Woman & Puppy Dog:

This beautiful figurine measures approximately 4 1/2\" tall, and the base is 3\" by 1 7/8\". The woman has a pink and white dress and a green bow in her hair. The skirt has two layers of pink lace and a layer of white lace underneath, like a slip. There are three different colored applied flowers and leaves to the skirt. Beside the woman is an adorable little brown puppy. Dresden lace figurines are made by using actual lace and dipping it into porcelain. When the figure is fired in the kiln the lace burns away leaving the delicate porcelain lace. This figurine is marked on the base with a D under a crown, and the German words Reine Handarbeit. That translates roughly to \"Purely Hand Crafted\". I found one source that attributes the mark to a company in Sandizell, Germany, made probably in the 1970\'s or 1980\'s. On the pink lace there are two chips on the side opposite the dog, there is a close up in the last photograph. The flaws are not too noticeable and the figurine displays very well.
