I\'ve been asked to sell a clock collection.
Offered here is a dutch clock with a German movement. It is marked Made in Holland and features iconic delft blue tiles in 2 places. The tile is marked Alma.
It is an 8 day clock that strikes on the hour and half hour. The top has a balcony with a brass Atlas holding the world. He appears to rotate over the bell. The front and sides of the balcony are brass with lions and a crest on the sides. The front has figures of a soldier, a seated person and a mother with 2 children Below them it reads Nuelck Syn Sin.
The center of the clock has the delft tile with a silver face in Roman numerals. The hands are thick decorative brass. The tile is flanked by brass columns. The sides have arched windows show casing the movement.
The lower section has an over hang of brass and another delft tile There are side pieces with open windows and anchored in brass. There is a brass pendulum in the shape of a man on a horse.
It has 2 solid brass weights.
I believe the case is walnut. It measures 27 inches long 5.25 inches deep and 10 inches wide. The back has a door.
The movement is German and is marked Franz Hermle, no jewels, unadjusted, 261-080B.
It has not been tested, but it is in excellent condition.
