Elfinware was made in Germany between 1920 and 1940. They are known for the blue Forget-Me-Not flowers that adorn the more intricate designs. They are also known for their charm and whimsy! Everything was hand painted, so they are all one of a kind, even when you find ones alike.
Thispiecehas a slight pinkish hue to the white glaze. One leaf goes to the right and one leaf goes up in this design. I see no cracks, chips or crazing.
Look at the top two petals of the large flower....are those actual fingerprints or made by a tool? I love to see details like this that show it really was hand made!
This basket measures about 2 1/2\" tall and the base is about 1 1/4\" x 1 1/8\".
Notice on the bottom there was a little bit of porcelain left to the right and below the \"Germany\". I\'m not an expert to know if this factoryresidueadds to the value, so I just left it.
Smoke- and cat-free home. We do have rescue dogs so please excuse the occasional stray hair...one is black and one is white!
