This here is a wonderful vintage Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Gold Tone Lapel or Tie Pin. The BPOE started in the 1860s in New York City, and have since grown into one of the countries largest fraternal orders, known for their civic and charitable works. This pin features a depiction of a majestic Elks Head with an Enameled clock between its antlers. I’m not certain if the position of the hour and minute ha do are significant or not. This pin measures appr 1/2” by 3/8” And is in very good condition showing only very minor surface wear, as can be seen in photos. This pin also features a threaded pin and screw on, toothed backing to ensure it stays in place. Overall, a very nice vintage BPOE lapel or tie pin, perfect for collectors of fraternal organization related items.
