This is a wonderful vintage lot consisting of 4 carved wood figures made in the form of an angel and one in the form of a little boy holding up a birthday cake. I believe that the figures were carved in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) area of Germany. There is a flutist sitting on a quarter moon, a horn playing angel on a stand, an angel sitting on a rocking horse and an angel that appears to be missing her instrument. This came from the estate of a well to do German family and although it’s a mixed lot, these are very cute figures. Most of the pieces are in good condition with some minimal paint chipping, and there is the aforementioned missing instrument and there is a glue repair to the wings on the rocking horse boy. The birthday boy is in quite rough condition - I’m throwing him in simply because he appears to be quite old, but there are a couple of candles missing on the cake and there is surface wear. In any case, this is a very nice decorative Christmas figural lot, even with the wear. The birthday boy has an old Wendt & Kuhn label affixed to his underside (see close-up photo). The angel that is playing a French horn is stamped with a candle with the letter E on its base - it and the flute/moon angel with white dotted green wings are also made by Wendt & Kuhn as those wings are signature wings for that company. The figures range from 1 5/8” to 2 1/2” in height. 3 of the angels have loops so that they can be hung from a tree branch - only the French horn player is meant to stand (as well as the birthday boy).

I am located in Canada but I now have a carrier service to bring my parcels directly across the border on Wednesdays to be shipped out of the USPS postal outlet in Champlain, N.Y. In addition to the actual shipping cost, I do charge a $3.00 handling fee to help offset the cost of this special US service and new packaging for this piece. Please note that even with the handling fee that it is less expensive and is a quicker service than using Canada Post.
