Beautiful vintage Alaska Inuit Eskimo doll all handmade. The face is carved bone, the hands are carved wood. The rest is fun and leather. The stick has red paint for blood from the animal kill in his right hand. The bottom of the shoes has been signed. It appears to say Rosi and I can\'t make out the last 2 letters. Dated 1944 Ester Alaska. Ester Alaska was originally a gold mining town with the first claim staked in 1903. The population was 200 people. Population in 2010 was just over 2,200 people. Thisis a beautiful piece of Alaskan Art:) Other than the thread this doll is all natural materials. I purchased this doll along with another one that has a bone carved face16 years ago at an antique shop in Fairbanks, Alaska.
