We are moving and need to find this great old fan a good home. It moved with me from my parents house many many years ago and it\'s time to pass it on. The fan definitely needs a good cleaning! Ideally, someone should probably take it completely apart.
The pictures best describe the overall cosmetic condition. Has the awesome Eskimo logo plate on the front grill. The paint definitely has signs of age and many scratches/nicks but nothing glaring when you stand back and look at it. The paint on the bottom is the worst part(*see picture) and it\'s missing the two of the little rubber feet. Plus, the bottom has some duct tape on it but nothing noticeable when it\'s upright.
All three speeds work great and move a lot of air. There\'s a very subtle \"rattle\" sound every now and then when the fan is running. I don\'t know if that\'s just the way these old fans were or if a good cleaning and oiling would eliminate that issue. I don\'t think it\'s major but point it out.
The original cord is in good shape. It\'s missing the speed control knob. You can still squeeze the switch by hand and turn it but it would be great to find a knob. Also, one of the blades is slightly \"chewed on\" (looks like perhaps someone took pliers to it) - *see picture - but you wouldn\'t notice it unless you were right up on it.
OK now that I\'ve mentioned any flaws, overall, this is a nice fan with great potential once it\'s cleaned up. This would be a great project for someone who enjoys getting their hands dirty and taking things apart. Please email me with any questions.
