Fresh from a local estate is this very nice art deco torchiere by Faries. The lamp is chrome plated brass and signed \"Faries Mfg Co Decatur ILL. D-789\" to the base.
It\'s is in very good condition, the original chrome is excellent, bright and shiny with very little wear. There is some wear on the cap where the post meets the thicker cylinder at the base, (check close-ups), and a small spot on the post, but overall it looks great. Base has a few tiny dings and light scratches. The only real issue is that the previous owner rewired the lamp at some point, and it looks like they were unable to align the original switch hole with the socket switch, so they drilled another hole, (looks like they were less than 1/8\" too low). This is not really noticeable or obvious (see pics). Overall it\'s a fantastic looking lamp.
