VINTAGE EAGLE BOOKENDS

Nice pair of Early American brass clad over metal eagle bookends measuring almost 6-1/2\" in height and weighing close to 3 1/2 pounds each. Featuring a majestic eagle with wings open, plinth is marked 1776, the year the Declaration of Independence was signed. Dating to the 1950s and marked PMC 114B, these were manufactured by Philadelphia Manufacturing Co. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks, but a nice glow/patina that comes with age. The underside is felted to protect table tops or furniture. Heavy and substantial, they will support a large stack of books - great addition to any home, library, collection or display!
