Staying true to earlier traditional works, this rare large figural centerpiece by the acclaimed Artist and Sculptor Fiorenzo Meneghetti depicts a young couple in a garden setting prepared to share a romantic moment. The young lady is seated on banded marble with a Lute in her lap; the young man is standing and leaning forward; both have their arms extended anticipating an embrace; their dog, uninterested, has fallen asleep in the grass at their feet.
The attention given to detail is exquisite: Please note the vined florals along the colorful marble; fallen rubble and stone at the back and the thatched grass to the sides and front; the Lute is decorated with Flowers and defined strings; the expression of the sleeping dog and attention to the detail of the tail and fur; both figures have animated expressions and long defined hands and fingers; their vibrantly colored traditional clothing defines even the lace in the bodice of her dress and the buttons of his waistcoat; even the footwear matches their hair color.
This vintage centerpiece is stamped on the underside \"Made in Italy\" and bears the Capodimonte mark on the front with the artist signature at the back. We found no chips or restorations. There is a very small hairline crack where the young lady\'s\' dress and petticoat gather. See photo \" 10. It is not noticeable in presentation.
This is a large centerpiece and quite heavy. In excellent condition, this piece would serve well for a collector in search of a focus piece.
