Click to View Image Album This listing is for a vintage silk twill scarf by the prestigious store of Fortnum and Mason. It measures about 31”. In the centre is a cartouche featuring the famous red brick store in Piccadilly. Around it are portraits of British monarchs from the 18th century up until the present Queen, Elizabeth. Among the portraits of the kings and queens are small heraldic shields with devices like lions, harps, and fleurs-de-lis. I estimate this scarf from between 1955—1965. It is in excellent condition. There are no stains, or holes or fading. The silk twill has a soft vintage feel. It has a hand rolled edge. This is a wonderful addition to a collection of vintage scarves or collectables related to the famous Fortnum and Mason store.
