Youare looking at a rare Fred Bear Kodiak static recurve bow with aluminumlaminate. This bow is the 1styear the Kodiak model was produced. Serial number is K4-4036. Weight is 50 lbs. It has the patent applied for yellow stickeron bow. Has the running Bear sticker andKodiak sticker (see photos). It’s reddish-orangewoven fiberglass on the front of the bow.It has the aluminum metal laminated into the wood. I was told the aluminum was from the Bomberplanes from WWII. The beautiful static tipsare laminated with light and dark woods.Overall the condition of the bow is good for its age. It was reportedly built in 1949. Leather grip appears original and shows itsage. There are no cracks or twists inthe wood; however, the upper limb is bowed slightly more that the bottom limb(see pics). The bow comes with a veryunique wood display rack made with original static recurve tips (from a damagedBear static recurve from similar time period).

I have heard these bows tend to delaminate; therefore, I wouldnot string or shoot this bow - It isfor the true collector of vintage Bear bows and to add to yourcollection.
