Listed here is an original George Nelson DAF armchair manufactured by Herman Miller beginning in 1956, this chair is an early version. Original patina with heavy fibers throughout. In full disclosure, the good part about this chair is that it\'s all original, there are some condition issues but it\'s mostly limited to the base. The shell is a parchment color and clean, no damage, just a patina from handling, some light discoloration in the seat but not anything off putting and obviously has not been drilled. Original glue under the arms as on the shock mounts. The shock mounts are solid and a little brittle looking, the screws tighten down all the way. The base has some serious pitting but solid and not messed with. I\'ve seen examples where the base has been bolted together, I think people might think that\'s normal. These legs can be re-chromed, or purchased new, I\'m not interested in doing either. Or, it can be used as-is. Two small glides on the back legs, no front glides. I paid a lot for this chair, someone pulled the patent label off which always annoyed me, I have too many chairs, it\'s odd man out. You can sit in this chair, they are inherently flexible, I wouldn\'t recommend heavy use.
