Sterling Silver Condiment Set - Art Deco Style - Vintage George VI

A fine and impressive vintage George VI English sterling silver three piece condiment set in the Art Deco style - boxed; an addition to our dining silverware collection

The pieces of this fine condiment set have a plain rounded cylindrical form onto a domed collet style foot.

The surface of each piece is plain and unembellished with a reed decorated border to the upper rim.

The foot of each component is ornamented with applied geometric designs in the Art Deco style.

The mustard pot is fitted with angular sterling silver handle.

The original hallmarked domed hinged cover to the mustard and the original hallmarked push fit cover to the pepper are surmounted by sterling silver urn style finials.

The pepper pot cover is further ornamented with clusters of pierced vertical pale style ‘pepper’ holes.

Both salt and the mustard pot are fitted with removable blue glass liners.

The underside of each component bears the retailer’s mark ‘Fabrique en Angleterre pour W. Horovite, 26 Rue Cherie Pacha, Alexandrie’.

The set retains the original fully hallmarked salt and mustard spoons.

This George VI condiment set is fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior and secured with a hinged catch.

    Condition

The pieces of this vintage condiment set are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional condition.

Each component has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The box is in excellent condition, in keeping with age; there is some minor mottling to the interior velvet.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each component, and the reverse of each spoon, and part hallmarks to the covers of the pepper pot and mustard pot are all very clear.

Dear Mr CampbellThank you very much for sending the pearl necklace: it arrived only a couple of days after purchase, beautifully wrapped and packaged, at 8.30am - so you have a first rate courier service!Could I also say how pleasant and how helpful the girl I spoke to on the telephone was. Her enthusiasm for the necklace, and for the quality of your products, decided me when I was not quite sure this was the item I wanted. Cheerfulness, enthusiasm and courtesy are not often encountered in this kind of call. It was a real pleasure!
So congratulations on your staff!Very best wishesTJ G

I can say, with no rear of contradiction, that my dealings with AC Silver and Andrew Campbell is certainly worthy of Front Bench status.
The two George III bottle neck rings were of the first quality, and thoroughly described and generously photographed. The transaction itself was smooth and without flaw. Packing and shipping were without incident and arrival was exactly on time.
It was the \'poster child\' for an ideal transaction.Thank youLG, Venerable Wine Paraphenalia,
