Description: This is an extremely nice small round cardboard box made in Germany. The box, which has a lift-off lid with a paper-mache Easter bunny on top, has the word \"Frohliche Ostern\" which translates to \"Happy Easter\" written along the exterior with silvery characters over a red and yellow background. The lid which fits within the box has a girl Easter Bunny wearing a red dress and holding a yellow basket sitting on top. We believe the Bunny is made of painted papier-mâché. We believe the piece was made in the 1950s and the entire piece is in great condition after being around for at least 50 years. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: Uncertain, but most likely sometime in the middle of the 20th century.
Origin: Germany.
Size: The box measures ~2 1/8\" in diameter at the base and is ~3\" high when closed. The box weighs slightly over half an ounces.
Maker: Unknown.
Marks: Unmarked as to the maker.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A very beautiful and well preserved paper candy container with beautiful vivid colors. It would make a great addition to your collection.
Condition: The box is in excellent condition with minimum soling and minor losses of color along the edges. It is intact with no breaks or repairs. The container shows no losses or repairs. There is a minor water mark on the bottom part of the lid, but since the lid fits inside the container it cannot be seen when close. Other than that this is a great piece in excellent condition after being around for over 50 years. Please see photos for additional condition information.
