Vintage Gibson B45-D12 Natural Top 12-Fret Acoustic Guitar with Hardshell Case:

Here isoffered a great sounding and playing Gibson 12-String, 12-fret guitar modelB45-D12 Serial# 674675 with “Made In USA” in two lines, below the serialnumber, which, according to guitarhq.com, was produced in the years 1970-1972or 1974-1975. It is fairly rare in that it is a 12-fret model andhas a natural top and a teardrop(“Martin style”) black pickguard-haven’t seenmany of these. It has solid mahogany back and sides and a solid spruce top.

1. The neck was reset. The action is now 3/32” under the bass E string at fret 12. Itnow plays really easy.

2. The neck/fretboardis flat with a little bit of relief. The frets show very little wear and areoriginal which is a real plus on a guitar this age-40 + years.

3. The pickguard was replaced. The top cracks were glued and cleated properly.

4. There are two very slight cracksbehind the bridge that are not all the way through the top.There is no rattling when played and all braces are tight.

5. The bridge is tight. A JLD BridgeDoctor was installed to head off top bellying that sometimes plagues vintage 12-string guitars. BTW, adding a JLD Bridge Doctor has shown to improve the sound of instrumentsand this one sounds great.

6. Some shallow scratches in the top-lower bout bass side were cleaned and filled with vintagetinted lacquer and are smooth. Seephotos. The top is hand rubbed for a very nice patina.

7. The finish on the back and sides isin very good shape.

A new fingerboard nut was installed on thefretboard to give proper string spacing for easy playing. Included is an original looking Hard-shell CaseThis Gibson B45 is one of the best sounding 12’s I haveplayed. It is set-up for easy playing and soundsterrific.
