Goebel Large Two Courting Pigeons Figurine No. 2344 Made in Western GermanyThis listing is for a beautiful large Goebel figurine of two courting pigeons. The figurine is No. 2344 and stamped Western Germany. It measures approximately 6.25 inches high and 7.25 inches long. The artist captured the sweet personality birds can have by doing an amazing job painting their eyes (please look at the photos). This figurine has so many detailed and elegant views that it is difficult to decide which angle is the best for display! There are a couple of areas on the underside of the leaning bird\'s tail feathers that we want to point out (please see pictures) other than the standard hand painted, glazed factory finish. One area is under the the blue feathers on the tail. It appears to have been chipped and then colored /painted. The other area is on the tail as well - only on the brownish feathers. It has an area which does not have glaze which makes us wonder if it was painted over for some reason. Either way, these two areas do not take away for the overall beauty of this rare figurine that displays quite elegantly.
