For consideration is this pair of vintage GossVermont Pottery bowls. These 2 gray bowls are matching with the samehand-painted design in the bottom center of each bowl. When magnified, whatlooks like grass is actually the name “Anida”. These measure 6¼ inches indiameter, 1¾ inches tall and the base measures 3 inches in diameter. Both aresigned on the back is script “goss”. They are in beautiful vintage conditionwith no nicks, chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or discoloration noted. NOTE: AfterWWII, Frank W. Goss (1921-2011) and his wife Marjorie Major started a potterynamed Contemporary Ceramics, later named Goss Pottery. Then around 1970 it was renamedOnion River Pottery. Steven F. Goss was apparently also involved with thefounding of the pottery. It is unclear as to the relationship between Stevenand Frank (brothers or father and son). The pottery operated in variouslocations in Vermont including New Haven, Middlebury, Winooski, and SouthBurlington. Onion River Pottery is known for maple syrup jugs and advertisingware for enterprises around the state of Vermont.
