A Gullah sweet grass basket made by Jery B Taylor in Frogmore (St Helena Island), SC in the early to mid 1990s measuring 11.25 inches across the top of the handles, 9.5 inches at the widest point, 3.25 inches to the top of the basket and 5.0 inches to the top of the handles. Baskets made by Jery B Taylor are made from sweet grass, palmetto, pine needles and bulrush and can be found on display at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC as well as other museums in the southEastern region of the US.
