For your all-year-long Hallowe\'en loving pleasure, we are proud to present a HAUNTINGly handsome vintage Hallowe\'en pressed paper pulp owl decoration that was made inthe 1920s. This FRIGHTfully fabulous feathered friend has golden glass eyes!

Please meet Hooolio! The material he is made from is “egg-crate” material, orwhat many refer to paper or papier mache. Hooolio was painted in outstandingcolors of old brownish-orange, warm beige and black. He has a superb and very attractive aged patina. Hooolio stands on a tree stump with a dignified expression as he awaits AllHallows\' Eve. Notice the details here, including his hand-painted talons andhis WICKEDLY wonderful applied golden glass eyes. While unmarked, he may havebeen made by the F.N. Burt Company. Hooolio is marked 1923 on his underside,which was written in pencil. This fine and BEWITCHING bird stands an impressive 10” high. We absolutely adore his countenance, his colors and his condition. There are NO cracks, repairsor breaks to the pulp whatsoever. There is some wear to his “ear” tipscommensurate with his age of 90-something years and the many Hallowe\'ens he hasseen. He does have some paint rubs but they help to create that wonderful warmpatina and aged look. One eye is slightly larger than the other but this isbecause these eyes were hand-made and each differs from all others. We think Hooolio would look so amazing incorporated into a vignette of vintagelanterns, diecuts, postcards and other great pieces of Hallowe\'en memorabilia however, he does make a gorgeous statement all on his own.
