Vintage Hand Sewn 100% Cotton MORNING STAR Quilt TOP + Backing, Unfinished QUILT:

What you see below is a quilt top already sewn (machine sewn) to a large 100% cotton blanket, color off-white, which was supposed to be the backing of the quilt, but work was left unfinished. The top is about 11\" shorter than the blanket on one side (the side we placed toward the headboard of the bed), as you\'ll see below; so the quilt top itself measures 83\" by 69\" across, and these measurements do not consider the blanket-backing, just the Morning Star top. The blanket could be removed easily and the top used with a different backing, if the next owner wants to do so.
The bed in the photos is a queen, 80\" by 60\". We believe the top is not wide enough for this bed, so we are calling it \"full\" instead of queen, but please you be the judge of that.
This is an old quilt top, set by hand, in a classic pattern named \"Morning Star\". The fabrics used are old, with nice prints, but these are not feed sack cottons, we believe. Please notice that besides the printed fabrics, which make up stars that are quite visible, there are four places on the quilt where it seems as there are no stars, just plain fabric.
But that is not the case. When you inspect the quilt at short distance you notice those \"blank\" squares are not blank at all, but they are also Morning Star blocks but made with a very light colored fabric, a truly pallid pink or peach, solid color, which offers practically no contrast with the off-white fabric surrounding it. Please check a close-up of one of these almost invisible stars, below, so you can judge by yourself.
