This mirror is actually quite extraordinary. Made from hardwood, every available inch has been gilded - carefully and professionally. The mirror consists of an outer band and then the central, main mirror. The outer mirror follows the frame, arching at the top and is highlighted at all six points by ornate moldings in a Grecian theme, quite commonly in the English Regency style this mirror has be modeled after. The top of the mirror sports the most ostentatious moulding where motifs symbolizing victory and success are prominent. The central mirror is a long rectangle with a small, squared arch at the top and is framed in more gilded wood, carved into a repeating pattern of acanthus leaves. It is beveled, where the outer mirrors are not. At the bottom of the piece are two large acanthus leaves curled elegantly before leading into the molding of the outermost frame, which is done in a repeating pattern of grapes and grape vine foliage. The entire mirror measures 78\" high, 48\" wide, and 3 1/2\" deep. The central mirror measures 52\" x 24\" while the outer mirrors are 3 1/4\" wide and are of varying lengths.This mirror is in excellent condition.There do not appear to be any visible signs of age or use related damage to any section of this piece and it has been prepped for hanging.lease consult images, and message with any questions.
