This brooch is an older piece and has been beautifully and skillfully done. The crest has been carved to show the shaggy crest of the Greater Roadrunner. The body is made up of mother-of-pearl, turquoise, white onyx or quartz, black onyx, and what resembles tortoise shell that have all been inlaid. Even the eye has been carefully done. I was told that this piece could possibly be credited to Eddie Beyuka, but I have noticed that the crest on his pieces slant back. So, since it is not signed at all, the artisan is still a mystery to me. The pin is about 2 5/8\" by 1 1/2\" and weighs 14.33 grams. The last picture will give you an idea of the thickness of the piece.
