This isa Vintage Tin Litho Sand Chute Beach / Sand Box Toy, Made in USA by J. Chein.

PLEASE NOTE: As found the \"ore cart\" and the rails it ran on are missing, and the rest of the toy is in rough condition. It is being offered as found, for parts or display only. Originally the toy had railed track running from the chute to the ground at an angle. The cart was pulled up the rails (don\'t know if there was a string and crank for this or not), filled and then allowed to descend to the ground.

The person I bought the toy from attributed it as being circa 1920s, and I found a 1920s attribution online also, but I do not have any specific knowledge if those attributions are correct or not.

The base of the sand chute is 6 1/2\" x 2 3/4\" and it is 10\" tall.

Condition

As found, the toy is in rough, used condition consistent with having been subjected to the rigors of sun, sand, and possibly salt water over a period of years. There is overall light to moderate rust, and the moving parts of the chute mechanism are somewhat off kilter. On a piece like this, it is best to just review the large clear photos and make your own assessment of the condition.
