Vintage framed artwork by Texas artist, Jack White featuring the Texas State Capitol building. It is a gold leaf on glass art he calledEchruseos using a process he developed in 1970. He stopped making the Echruseos in 1978. This one has a sticker on the back indicating it was given as a Christmas gift in 1971 from the Lieutenant Governor Ben Barnes (served as LG 1969-1973). It was backed with paper (an antique paper, likely a repro at the time) but the backing paper is deteriorating and is ripped nearly all around the back projection. It looks like it may have a bit of moisture damage and has some spotting on the wood under the paper. The gold leaf is of course still nice and shiny though there is an area that when tilted looks like it may be starting to separate from the glass (or vice versa) but it could be just part of it? I did not try and remove it from the frame in case that might somehow damage it. Regardless it displays quite nicely. It is for the most part uncleaned, I just gave it a light dusting and it could use a bit more. The frame measures approximately 11.5\" x 10\"; the art opening 5x6.5\".
