Jackson made marbles in 1945 only in Tollgate, WV, right outside of Pennsboro, WV where Alley and Champion made marbles. There were only about 2 boxcars ever produced(extremely low for marbles). They were not sold retail in the US About the only way you could buy them were in the mesh bags (very expensive if you can find a bag) or dug marbles which I have sold for over 15 years as I had permission years ago to dig near the old site. I was able to buy these off a person that got them off of one of the workers at the old factory before they were shipped out of the country. Therefore these do not have the hit marks, flea bites, smudges common to most of the dug marbles. These are mint from the factory. However they are over 70 years old so some have minor blemishes as made touch marks, marks where they have rolled against each other. Of course no fractures, major hits, etc. Please review response going back over 16 years at the same location. I have spent hours researching old WV marble companies and as a social worker traveling the backroads of WV providing counseling services to children and their families. Many of the people I worked with had marbles or knew someone who did. What started as a hobby grew into an enterprise.
