Vintage Japanese Etched 950 Sterling Silver Cigarette Case, Asahi Shoten, Tokyo. This vintage 1940\'s-1950\'s cigarette case is in good condition, with some surface scratches & one small dent on the corner near the hinge, shown in the last photo. It is marked 950 Silver with the rising sun hallmark of Asahi Shoten, the renowned Tokyo silversmiths & jewelers, who are still in business! I didn\'t polish it, that\' up to you. It is 6 1/8\" x 2 1/8\" & 5/8\" deep. It is solid 950 Sterling & weighs 120 grams. There is place on the front for your initials, it is not monogrammed. The inside holds 2 rows of 2 3/4\" cigarettes on each side. There are 4 expandable stays to keep the cigarettes in place. The clasp works fine & holds tight. It has detailed craftsmanship in the etched pattern on the front & back. It\'s ornately engraved in a scroll pattern. It really sparkles! A beautifully made vintage Japanese cigarette case for any collector or smoker.
