Japanese Wooden Bucket

This is a vintage Japanese Rice Measure called Itto Masu from the mid 1900\'s. It measures that 12.5\" tall, 12.38\" diameter. Made from Cypress wood (Hinoki), it has all iron fittings. It was used in agriculture to measure a standard rice unit (Ito) and it originates from the Gifu prefecture.

The branding includes official marks to show that this measure was calibrated and approved for agricultural use.
