Vintage JOSEF ORIGINALS "APRIL" Doll of the Month Series (Black Eyes) With Original Labels & Hang Tag c 1963 Description
- Wonderful vintage figurine by Josef Originals
- "APRIL" from the "Doll of the Month" series - a much rarer series than the normal birthstone girls
- The series is circa 1963
- She is shown on page 48 of "Josef Originals" by Harris/Whitaker
- She wears a pale blue white gown embossed with pink and black design and wears a matching white hat
- She carries a gold wrapped present
- Note too the very prominent white bow at the back of her dress
- Great handpainting - she has the most adorable and highly collectible black eyes, lashes and red mouth
- Complete with the original APRIL and Josef Originals foil labels and even rarer, the original hang tag with gold cord containing an April birthday month poem
- Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, other damage or restoration and the only flaw is a rough edge of missed glaze on the side of her left hand - not material and I believe factory original but mentioned for complete accuracy
- No other paint loss or wear to gold accents
- She measures approximately 3 7/8" tall
- Marked as shown in photo with copyright Josef Originals impressed on base and oval Japan foil label
- Please ignore all white spots on photos caused by camera flash
- This great vintage piece would make a wonderful addition to your Josef collection or a lovely April birthday gift.
