Vintage (1940s) Karl Griesbaum singing bird box in great condition with original bird shaped key!
The bird is beautifully covered with red feathers. As you can see the case features a highly filigreed and chased design on all sides and a very clean bottom area. Only smudged are from tape holding the key in place. Overall, this 60 year old singing bird box is in excellent cosmetic and perfect mechanical condition. Comes with a Karl Griesbaum, bird shaped winding key. The case features a natural patina to itsgildedfinish.
The lovely red bird sings beautifully after winding and recedes into the box upon completion. Sometimes, it does stick and not recede automatically but mostly it works fine. If it happens to stick, just tilt it and it will close on it\'s own. You do not want to force the bird to recede as original instructions suggest that you do not do that.
