One of the most popular dolls by Kestner, the 237 \"Hilda\" dolls were manufactured by the J.D. Kestner Company in approximately 1910, in Germany.

This is an adorable and sweet example of one toddler Hilda. This 12 1/2\" doll has beautiful blue glass eyes, a happy open mouth with 2 upper teeth and tongue, upper and lower painted eyelashes, brushstroke eyebrows, and accented nostrils. She has the cutest expressive face!
The back of the head is marked: \"made in Germany 16 JDK 237 \"and the artist initials CZ 1989.
She has a toddler composition body and 100% human hair {100% echthaar} wig made in Germany.The wig is pinned in place so could be changed to a different color our style if desired.
She has a beautiful long peach color gown and bonnet with vintage ivory laces, ivory tights and ivory satin shoes. The shoes have laces but I am unable to tie a bow at this time due to trouble with my wrists.The dress has an attached peach satin slip. It fastens in the back with 3 snaps. It is in excellent condition with no stains or holes. The elasticaround thewrists has sprung.
Her bisque head has no cracks, hairlines or chips.
The stringing is good and she sits and poses well. The body is in very good condition...no cracks or broken fingers.
