Circa- 1970Sand extremely rare , plastic mechanics from Tissot Research Idea 2001 .

Here is a fine example of the very rareLanco which is part of the Tissot group . This is born out by the movement which is from the Tissot buggy autolubrange .New old stock condition , never worn before . This is a wind-up mechanical movement was a result of extensive research into new technologies and experiments with new materials by Tissot . Known as \" Tissot Research Idea 2001 \", also called the Astrolon . Developed by Tissot as an inexpensive design sincemuch ofthe gear wheels are made of plastic unfortunately it proved to be insufficiently accurate and was a marketing disaster .

This Swiss madewatch is exceptionally rare , especially as there were very few ever made and not many examples available today . Ithas classic 1970s design and rings all the right bells with retro fans . The classic dial is bronze tones with gold batons and hands and date window at 3. Its case is a large cushion shape and finished in deep gold plate in high polish .Fabulous condition and any marks will be pretty insignificantand gained through storage only . The original strap has long since deteriorated so now fitted on a gold plated over stainless bracelet . It is working fine and holding time but no garuantees for future time keeping . There is an adjustment screw on the movement ( the red screw in the picture ) if it is not keeping time but that is down to the buyer . A must for any seriouswatch collector as well as fans of anything retro . This is a highly sought after piece of horological historyin greatcondition.
