Huge, Antique, Lapis Lazuli and Silver Beaded Necklace
I don\'t know where this necklace is originally from but I bought it in an old, tiny shop in Cambodia many years ago.
It is about 21\" in length and has five, huge, gorgeous lapis lazuli beads ranging from about 25mm to 30mm, each capped on either end with engraved, silver metal. In between are large, hammered-looking, metal beads and some small, round and saucer-shaped beads. I don\'t know what type of metal they are as there are no markings but because it is old and made in Asia, I would guess they are mixed metal with a low silver content. It has never left any discoloration on my skin when I\'ve worn it though.
This is a very bold, heavy, impressive piece and I hope it goes to someone who loves it as much as I did.
