Vintage 53\" x 30\" Woven Wool Rug

Native American Indian (Navajo?) -- Beautiful!

This large, colorful woolen rug measures approximately 53\" long & 30\" wide.

It is a durable weaving of real beauty!

It is highlighted, from top to bottom, by five white horizontal stripes (4.5\")

alternating with six dark red horizontal stripes (3.25\").

Each white stripe is bordered top & bottom by a 3/4\"light brown stripe.

Enclosed within each white stripe are five identical gray designs,

attractively outlined in contrasting black wool.

Two 3/4\" stripes - one of light brown & one of black - finish each end,

where the rug is also hemmed with white yarn.

A couple white yarn strands accent each of the four corners.

This rug was acquired along with others in the 1960\'s from the Southwest US

in order to make a colorful wall display for the enjoyment of others at home.

The display has served its purpose, and now it\'s time to let the rugs pass to another.

I am pleased that so many have already been sold on .

There are only a couple left inmy collection. This is rug #23.

All previous rugs (except #22 still for sale) have already been sold.

Disclaimer: I do not have the ability to evaluate the weaving quality

or to authenticate thateach of these rugs are of Navajo origin,

but I certainly had that understanding when they were selected.

I have not had them appraised by an expert so I am not really sure

what each is worth. selling has helped me learn.

They are each sold \"AS Is,\" without warranties or returns.

(I will attempt to provide an accurate description & photos of each sale rug.)

Regardingthisrug, I photographed it oneachside (Photos #1-2, then #3-4).

Other close-up photos are provided to see the dye and quality of weave.

Please view photos carefully!

With exception of twonoticeable light, yellow stains of unknown origin,

there are no holes or unusual smell.

Note: Last three photos show the stains, appearing on one side only.

Photo #1 shows both stains from a short distance.

Photos #2 & 3show each stain separately and closer yet.

(Perhaps you know of a way to remove the stains).

The rug may be a little dirty from lengthy display,

but is still in good condition. (Just dry clean, if needed.)
