VINTAGE LLADRO FIGURINE
Wonderful vintage Lladro high glazed, molded porcelain SEATED JOCKEY figure measuring 13-1/2\" tall. Numbered 1341G, the Jockey was only issued for four years, from 1977 to 1981 and then retired. Depicted seated on a tall tree stump, he sits with one foot resting on his saddle, the other holds a short quirt or whip - wearing traditional cap, vest, English boots and fitted leggings, design was beautifully executed by Francisco Catala. Condition is mint with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, discoloration or damage - a bit of a trace label on the back of the stump - lines are so graceful and elongated typical of the Lladro style - just lovely. I received this as a gift in 1978 when we were part owners of a race horse that ran at the Bay Meadows Race Track in San Mateo, California. Think this would be a wonderful addition to any Lladro collection or display! Please note -- images taken with and without flash to bring out the detail - sorry, no box.
